BAPTISM

A FRESH 24

Lamentations 3:22-24

I love the way Steven Furticks mind works.  He is inspired by the Holy Spirit through many different ways, and this time through an NBA basketball game.  So he is watching this NBA game while studying for a sermon  (ok who does that?) anyway, there was a time where the basketball was shot at the last second before the shot clock expired, and the offensive team got the rebound, and the announcer says... "they have a fresh 24"  Meaning that they get a new 24 sec on the shot clock before they have to take a shot.  How cool that we can look at this piece of scripture and say that Gods gives us a FRESH 24 hours each and every day!  Each day we wake up, and confess our sins to him, and His Grace and Mercy washes over us and cleanses us and gives us a FRESH 24!   WOW!! We serve an AWESOME God and He is worthy to be praised!!

POOL PARTY

Hey Students...

Pool party Sunday night from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.  We will meet at the Ruf home at 7:00, and please have your ride pick you up right at 8:30pm please.  Snacks and drinks will be provided.  The weather forecast looks like it's going to be a hot one, so cool off at the POOL PARTY!

COME TO CENTRAL PARK TOMORROW NIGHT AND HANG WITH US!  WE WILL BE DOING CRAFTS AND SPORTS WITH THE KIDS WHO COME TO THE PARK, AND THEN WILL SHARE A MEAL WITH THEM!  BE THERE AT 6:30, AND WE'LL WRAP THINGS UP BY 8:30.  BE READY TO HAVE FUN AND BE THE LIGHT OF JESUS TO ALL THOSE WHO WE COME INTO CONTACT WITH!

STUFF

Don't we have a bunch of STUFF?  I mean, stuff that sits in our drawers that we haven't warn in years.  Stuff in the "junk drawer" that has been taking up space for years.  Stuff in the storage space that we have forgotten was even there until we had to store something else away,  and again see all the STUFF that we have.  The mini-storage industry has been in a boom over the past 15 years in America, because we just can't get rid of enough stuff fast enough to keep up with all the new stuff we keep aquiring.   
I wonder what life would be like if each and everyday we woke up and saw the world through the eyes of Jesus.  If we saw all things and all people and all circumstances.  If we were able to see the family of 5 in India who wake up everyday from sleeping on dirt floors, wondering how they would scrounge enough money to feed themselves.  If we were able to see the orphan child in Africa with HIV who lost his parents to aids wandering the streets looking for someone, anyone to give him a morsel of food to eat.  If we were able to see the mother who helplessly watches her child die in her arms from starvation.
I wonder then, would we have all this stuff?  Would it matter?  
Maybe it's time to get rid of some stuff and donate the money to save a child of God from starvation, HIV Aids.  Maybe sponsor a child so that they can have clean clothes, food to eat, a school to attend, and be able to come to know Jesus through it all.

Sunday Equip U
